F³ Factory final report available online
With the successful completion of the F³ Factory project and in addition to the previously published training material, the final project report as submitted to the European Commission is now available online. It contains an account of the major activities and achievements of the F³ Factory project as well as short summaries of the key successes and all seven case studies evaluated in the course of the project.
F³ Factory training material available online
Over the past four years, numerous results have been elaborated within the F³ Factory project. The scope of F³ Factory was to enhance the competitiveness for European chemical industry. As it has been shown, this can be achieved through flexible, modular continuous plants for low to medium scale production, since these plants are more economical and more sustainable than current production modes.
Overview of F³ Factory Achievements & Case Study Summaries
After four successful years, the F³ Factory project has come to an end in July 2013. It is thus time to give an overviev of the achievements realized during the past four years as well as of the demonstration results obtained in the seven industrial case studies.
F³ Factory Closing Events in May, 2013
After four successful years, the F³ Factory project is coming to an end in May 2013. Thus, two closing events have been scheduled to reflect on the progress made as well as to present the achievements and the path forward to future sustainable innovations.
Final Industrial Interest Group Meeting to be held at INVITE on April 9, 2013
Since the end of the F³ Factory project is drawing nearer, the final Industrial Interest Group Meeting will be held at INVITE Research Center in Leverkusen on April 9. During the meeting, we will outline the journey of the F3 Factory project ‘from concept to reality’ and will share some of the generic learning we have gained along the way. The day will be concluded with a discussion of the results presented among participants and F³ Factory Consortium members.
Third F³ Factory Newsletter published
As the F³ Factory project enters its final year, preparations for demonstrating the new flexible, modular manufacturing concept across a number of chemical processes are well advanced. More details can be found in the recently published third F³ Factory newsletter. A PDF version of this newsletter can be obtained by following the link below.
INVITE facility hosts 2011 Interest Group Meeting
Over 50 representatives from leading European industrial and academic organisations came together in November to participate in the 2nd annual F³ Factory Interest Group Meeting.
WP5 - Intensified chemical reactors
Process intensification (PI) has been identified as a key challenge for the future industrial competitiveness of the chemical and related process industries in Europe.
The F³ Factory approach seeks to combine innovative PI reactor technologies with PI downstream processes in a standardised and modularised format. The feasibility of F³ Factory modularised process concepts will then be demonstrated across the seven industrial case study projects.
WP2 - Production scenarios
As part of the overall project objective to design and deliver modular, continuous production concepts - the F3 Factory project is seeking to develop novel production technology that will drive a new paradigm in sustainable manufacturing for the EU chemical processing sector.
